Here is something about ATF from Starling Forum.

Hi guys,

Sorry it took 9 months, but yes, lots of things involved to make this ATF tools go out

I have the binaries ready and Starling is currently being updated to support completely the ATF workflow. Daniel is having a look right now.

It will be really nice, you will just supply a png file to the command line too and voila you will get the ATF file with all compressed file formats in it for Android (ETC1), iOS (PVRTC) and Windows and MacOS (DXT). Flash Player and AIR will automatically pick the right file format depending on which platform your content is running.

Some of the benefits of using ATF:

Faster rendering
Lower texture memory requirements
Faster texture downloads into texture memory
Lower disk space requirements.
and more

Expect something on labs in the next weeks.

They announced at Flash Gaming Summit last week that the tools should be out in a few days. Once they're available, we'll take a look. When I heard about it, it seemed like a pretty good idea.
